A virtual private server (also referred to as virtual dedicated
server or virtual server, and abbreviated VPS or VDS)
is a method of partitioning one physical server computer into multiple servers that
each has the appearance and capabilities of running on its own dedicated machine.
Each virtual server can run its own full-fledged operating system, and each server
can be independently rebooted.
The practice of partitioning a single server so that it appears as multiple servers
has long been common practice in mainframe computers, but has seen a resurgence
lately with the development of virtualization software and technologies for other
architectures.

Our main providers for this network are Claranet and Packet Exchange.
We only use Dell servers. Our virtual private servers run on top of the range Dell
2950 servers, with Dual Quad-core CPUs and a minimum of 8GB of ram. Our disk systems
are all based on highly redundant and high performing SCSI RAID. In other words,
we spare no expense on our servers.
This service uses a fully redundant system. If one of our connections fails, traffic
is seamlessly redistributed over the remaining connections. The bandwidth is burstable.
